The Issues
Jobs continue to be my top priority! Creating an economic environment that supports our families is critical to Idaho’s future. Economic activity depends on transportation systems, energy, and telecommunications.
The top issues I will focus on in the coming legislative session include:
Creating more economic opportunities and quality jobs:
Jobs continue to be my top priority! Creating an economic environment that supports our families is critical to Idaho’s future. Economic activity depends on transportation systems, energy, and telecommunications. I support incentives for entrepreneurial endeavors, like new energy businesses and a number of initiatives to lower costs for small businesses and farms while seeking capital for growth.
Promoting better educational opportunities for Idahoans:
We must provide excellent education in our K-12 schools and universities. An educated, competitive workforce makes us attractive to employers, and supports the small businesses so critical to creating good jobs. A skilled workforce also draws better wages, keeps our families together and helps our communities prosper.
Protecting Idaho’s clean air and water and public access:
I hold a deep respect for the strengths and culture of ranch and farm communities. I will strive to protect agricultural and ranching heritages in local communities while preserving our most precious natural resources. Outdoor recreation is an important industry that creates jobs for small businesses and communities. The legislature can do more to support tourism in Idaho, one of the state’s largest economic drivers. I will continue to stand strong on maintaining your access to public lands. I support legislative efforts to study, fund and implement water conservation, including aquifer recharge, and better manage our water resources.
